The collegiate career of American International College record-setting quarterback
Tom Guy has ended, but his passing game will continue much more than an arm's
length away.

Guy will be calling the signals from Germany while playing for the Kiel Baltic
Hurricanes, one of eight teams in the second German League.
Guy left last week for Germany, his first trip overseas.

"I was ready to play Arena Football for Atlantic City, and this opportunity came up,"
said Guy, who sees it as better exposure for playing in the pros.
Guy holds 13 school records at AIC, including single-game (485 yards),
single-season (3,003 - 2002) and career (9,247) passing marks.

The Hurricanes open training camp today, and play a preseason contest against the Elmshorn Fighting Pirates
April 24. The regular season opens May 8 against the Bielefeld Bulldogs.

According to Kiel Athletic Director Jan Weber, the only players who get paid are the foreigners like Guy who are
recruited. Kiel played in the first division of the GFL (German Football League) from 1995-2002, but voluntarily
dropped down to the third division last year to rebuild the program. Kiel won that division, and moved back up a
notch to the second division this season. There are three other players from the U.S. on the roster.

"Tommy is an important part of this rebuilding process," Weber stated. "After having heard about him from our
former coach and (World Sports Scouting President) Mark Grocholski, we figured that he'd be a very good fit into
our system. There's no doubt that he has been signed to be our starting quarterback."

AIC head coach Art Wilkins said that Guy was more than just a great quarterback for the Yellow Jackets. "He's
more of a coach," Wilkins said. "He was the best person I've ever had in the film room. I think I see everything, but
he'd see things that I couldn't even see." Wilkins said that he understands that the German league has a pipeline
to NFL Europe, and that would be a realistic goal for Guy.

Guy said that he liked the idea of playing outdoors on a bigger field rather than the small indoor surface. After
quarterbacking AIC to the Eastern Football Conference championship in 2000, Guy was a three-time
All-Northeast-10 Conference member the next three seasons, placing on the first team in 2001 and the second
team in 2002 and 2003. He also won the Gold Helmet award three times. That honor is given to the best weekly
football player in New England.

Guy finished his AIC career with 73 touchdown passes on 636 completions from 1,160 attempts.
