What is the duration of my contract?
The duration of contracts are generally one year. You will be in good standing
to negotiate a new contract for the following season. Teams operate their clubs
via sponsorships. Each season sponsorships can change, thus the finances
can be different. How teams abroad operate is comparable to the motor sport
NASCAR. Each team or car has a main sponsor such as Home Depot or
Valvoline. Those bumper stickers you see on the car and those patches
embroidered on the drivers suits are branch sponsors. Many of the main
sponsors stay the same while the branch sponsors continuously change. This is
on par with how clubs overseas finance their seasons. You will often see
sponsor patches sewn on uniforms and sponsor stickers on helmets. They must
solidify their sponsorships before they can offer contracts.
